About Red Cap

Red Cap Catering Co. is a kitchen based in Somabay, on Egypt’s Red Sea coast. It began by cooking for groups, each menu shaped around whoever was at the table. Along the way it grew into something more: thoughtful pairings, unexpected combinations and, above all, good people around good food.

Founder

Alaa Sherif isn’t a trained chef, and has never claimed to be. Alaa is a food enthusiast whose real passion is feeding people, and whose cooking lives in quiet fusions: familiar dishes nudged somewhere new, flavours that meet halfway. Alaa also runs Soul’s Fire Eats in Somabay.
